How to Install the Covideo Integration for Salesforce

Learn how to install the Covideo integration within Salesforce.

Covideo's integration for Salesforce allows you record, send, and track videos without leaving your CRM. In this article, we'll walk you through how to install Covideo for Salesforce, as well as how to add the Covideo tab to a page layout, details on platform cache, and how to sync your Covideo and Salesforce data.

Note: Only Salesforce Admins have the ability to install the Covideo for Salesforce integration. If you are a standard user, seek out your admin to get Covideo installed.


How to install Covideo for Salesforce

Visit the Covideo listing on the AppExchange to begin the installation process.

Please note that Covideo for Salesforce integration is only available for the Salesforce Lightning version and requires Professional, Enterprise, or Unlimited Salesforce editions.

Step 1: Click on "Get It Now".

Step 2: Choose whether you would like to install in Production or Sandbox.

Step 3: Confirm installation details.

Step 4: Login to your Salesforce account (requires Admin access).

Step 5: Select which profiles you want to install the Covideo integration for. Your options are Install for Admins Only, Install for All Users, or Install for Specific Profiles.

Step 6: Click "Install".

Step 7: Check the box to grant access and click "Continue".


How to add the Covideo tab to a page layout

The Covideo tab can be added to the page layout for both contacts and leads.

    *Can also be added to Opportunities and Accounts page layouts.

Step 1: From the Salesforce dashboard in Salesforce Lightning, navigate to the page layout for either leads or contacts. Click Setup > Object Manager > Leads or Contacts > Lightning Record Pages, then click on the applicable layout followed by "Edit".

Step 2: Click on the Tabs component section, then click on the "Add Tab" button.

Step 3: For Tab Label, select Custom. Enter Covideo for Custom Label, then click "Done".

Step 4: Under the Covideo tab, drag the Covideo custom-managed component into the appropriate section.

Step 5: Click on the Activity tab, drag the activity custom-managed component into the Activity section.

Step 6: Click "Save"


Platform Cache

Step 1: Under Setup, search for Platform Cache. This should be under the Custom Code section in the search results.

Step 2: Next to the covideo_app namespace prefix, click on "Edit".

Step 3: For Organization, under "Session Cache Allocation", change the number allocated to 5.

Step 4: For Organization, under "Org Cache Allocation", change the number allocated to 5.

Enable Salesforce data sync

The first time the user logs into Covideo via Salesforce an alert will pop up asking the user to enable Salesforce Integration.

Step 1. Log into your Covideo account within a contact, lead, or account tab.

Step 2. Enable the Salesforce Integration by clicking "Enable" after logging in to your Covideo account.

Once enabled, you are now able to record, send, and track your Covideos.
